Shark fishing trip Videos

Surfside August 13-15

We get to the seawall at I think 6:30 ish to see mats of weed in the surf. Very discouraging. So we go bait shopping and do some exploring of shops and things in town. After eating we make it to the beach at sun down. The plan was to run baits out but with all the weed we just hung out and got to bed early.
Morning comes and I must say my morale was very low do to all the weed. We make are way to the pass were things started looking up, ran 2 9/0 out and start fishing the surf, Chris caught his first spanish mackerel so that was cool.
After seeing big fish chasing foot long bait about 50 to 75 yards out Chris took my 4/0 and a live whiting, slung it out in hops of whatever was chasing them would find the hook. I started to reel in the 9/0 because of the weed and I see the 4/0 is bent over big time. Chris ran over and fought in his first stingray (bait).

We fished hard all day with no luck on sharks. Chris yelled at me to get the rod. After a nice fight he lands a 5 something bull.

Our bait buckets were cover in weed.

As we sit in the truck we notice there is no weed in the surf. After the rain past we got to work and ran 2 9/0. After about 10 min we get a run and I land a nice bull shark. This went on for about 4 or 5 hours till the weed came back in. We landed 5 sharks that day.

The next day was Sunday. Our last day ran 2 rods and got smashed by a monster wave that came out of nowhere. Last day I caught a nice black tip which we took home for the BBQ. All in all it was a very good trip we only got to do a good 5 - 6 hours of shark fishing due to the weed but had a good trip. We landed 6 sharks, a stingray, spanish mackerel, speckled trout, and lots of other surf bound fish.

Ocean fishing with the FAMILY

August 7th- The first weekend in August I took my family to SLP. Our kids had never been to the ocean. A perfect way to get some beach time and fish time in. We did some fishing on surf side. Sorry we caught no shark this trip. But they did catch some small bay fish. We did some fishing for half of a day. Not much fish time this trip but maybe more next time. I am planning on taking my son back for some bull reds.
Their first time to see the ocean
My son and I walked out into the surf. There were mullets jumping all around us and hitting our legs. My son was a little freaked out.
We were at the ocean by 6:45 in the morning to watch the sun rise.

My son caught his first fish. He really wanted a shark but no luck.

Then he caught his second fish.

My daughter was collecting sea shells while the boys were fishing.

The next fish we caught was pretty cool looking. My son thought it was a snake.

Then it was my daughters turn to catch her a fish.
All smiles with the fish she caught.
I had to let my wife in on some of the action. She caught the last fish.
